## How it works

Inputs: state, hours in the week, cash wage, tips kept after tip-outs. State rates come from the U.S. Department of Labor table. Output: wages plus tips per hour, and the make-up pay your employer owes if you fell short of the minimum for the week (federal rule, DOL Fact Sheet #15). In states with no tip credit, the cash wage itself must be the full minimum.
