Server paycheck estimator

Your check starts from your cash wage, and the Social Security and Medicare on every tip you reported comes out of it. Enter one pay period to see what’s left. Everything stays in your browser.

How it works

  • Cash wages and minimums come from the U.S. Department of Labor state table revised July 1, 2026.
  • If your wage plus tips don’t reach the minimum for the week, your employer must make up the difference (DOL Fact Sheet #15). Enter one week for that line to be exact.
  • Your pay covers taxes in this order: taxes on your regular pay, then Social Security and Medicare on your tips, then income tax on your tips (IRS Publication 531).

Why is my server paycheck so small, or even $0?

Official sources

TipMax Answers explains public IRS and U.S. Department of Labor guidance in plain English for tipped workers. It is not tax, legal, or accounting advice. Federal rules are a floor; your state may add its own tip rules. Confirm with IRS.gov, DOL.gov, your state labor agency, or a qualified professional. TipMax the app helps you track tips and tip-outs; it does not file your taxes or decide tip-pool disputes.
