How it works

  • State minimum and cash wages come from the U.S. Department of Labor tables revised July 1, 2026.
  • Federal law: if your cash wage plus tips don’t reach minimum wage for the workweek, your employer must make up the difference (DOL Fact Sheet #15).
  • States that don’t allow a tip credit require the full minimum wage before tips.
  • States with several rates ask you to enter your own minimum. Local minimum wages can be higher.
